The Chicago White Sox introduced their latest Nike City Connect uniforms on Monday night, revealing a special edition that brings together two of Chicago’s most iconic sports franchises.
In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, the White Sox partnered with the NBA’s Chicago Bulls to create this unique jersey. Following the popularity of the original "Southside" City Connect release, the team set out to push boundaries again. The result: the first MLB jersey to incorporate features from both baseball and basketball teams.

“We had a tough act to follow after the success of our first City Connect look,” said Brooks Boyer, Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer for the White Sox. “One idea that came up early was blending the identities of a baseball and basketball team—something no one’s done before. Chicago, with its rich sports culture, felt like the perfect place to make it happen with help from the Bulls, Nike, and Fanatics.”
The design includes nods to both franchises. A black and red color scheme honors each team’s legacy, while vertical pinstripes reference both the Bulls’ dominant ‘90s era and the White Sox’s classic uniform heritage. A detail near the collar subtly displays the combined nine championships won by the two teams: the White Sox’s titles in 1906, 1917, and 2005 are marked in white; the Bulls’ six titles from 1991 to 1998 appear in red.
In another first, the White Sox will sport two different caps with the new look. One features pinstripes, and the other—a bold “Chicago Bred” cap—leans more into a streetwear vibe. Inside the caps, fans will find both team jerseys represented, along with the word “Southside” and dual “Chicago” labels that tie the whole concept together.
“Working with New Era, Fanatics, and Nike, we found it tough to pick a single cap that captured everything,” Boyer said. “So we decided on both. It gives us flexibility and honors the identity of both franchises. These caps will be part of our City Connect program over the next three years.”
The team is set to wear the new uniforms for the first time on Friday, May 2, when they host the Houston Astros. The plan is to make these the go-to uniforms for all Friday games throughout the 2025 season.
Fans can start buying the gear at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, at the White Sox Team Store or online at mlbshop.com. “With the black sleeves and ‘Chicago’ lettering across the chest, it gives off a bit of a basketball vibe,” Boyer added. “That wordmark has history for both teams. We think fans of both the White Sox and the Bulls will connect with this new look. It’s a celebration of Chicago sports like we’ve never seen before.”
